Although the athletes are determined to set a new record for the ascent/descent of Mt Gower, there’s a more important reason they’re out there pushing their bodies to the limit… the athletes would like to dedicate the proceeds of their efforts to the Lord Howe Island Central School.

The Lord Howe Island Central School is a core part of the community on Lord Howe Island, and holds the future generations of Islanders, who have a strong inherent love of the Island and it’s natural environment. For anyone who’s had the privilege to visit Lord Howe in their travels, they’ll know how uniquely unspoiled it is. The school is the most remote in the NSW network of public schools, located in a World Heritage Area, and has a focus on maintaining a sustainable environment through work and play. A total of 30 students from Kindergarten to Year 11 attended the school in 2012.

Through your donations to help educate the younger generation of Lord Howe Islanders, you’re helping to preserve one of Australia’s most unique natural ecosystems. We’re all very grateful for your generosity!

Please be sure to explore our pages and connect with us, through a variety of social interactions, including FacebookInstagram and Twitter, to make a positive difference to Lord Howe Island and it’s community.
