WHEN? WHERE? HOW?

RACE SCHEDULE:

The Challenge will take place on Sunday Jan 5th, 2014. Race start is at 9am.

If weather conditions are deemed unsafe, the event will be conducted on the next suitable day.

13km

VIEWING:

It is intended to have seating and refreshments available for spectators on the headland adjacent to Capella Lodge. Dean Hiscox, the official race director, will provide race updates and commentary.

Jack Shick will be the official timekeeper for the challenge and will also oversee the photographic documentation of the event.

REGISTRATION:

Contestants must officially register on the day of the event with the race director no later than 8am at the start/finish line.

PRE RACE DINNER/FUNDRAISER:

The time and place are to be acknowledged and will be posted here once confirmed.

RULES:

The challenge (for safety reasons) will be done as previous, conducted as a time trial, with athletes starting at approx 5min intervals. Athletes will carry their own nutrition (fluids and food). There will be no aid stations, but fresh water can be accessed at Erskine Valley Creek if needed.

There will be sectional timekeepers at the Lower Road, Saddle, Get Up Place and Summit. These personnel will be able to render assistance if a contestant sustains an injury etc. Otherwise, no general spectator assistance allowed. A retrieval emergency team will be on standby .

Contestants must complete the challenge within 4hrs to have their time officially recorded.

VOLUNTEERS:

Personnel are required to assist the race organisers to conduct the event, both on the mountain sections, and also at the start/finish zone. Please contact Dean Hiscox or Jack Shick if you’re available to help.
